14° Ring Ceremony and KoSA Knighting Ceremony
The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, with its honors and obligations, touches all aspects of a new Candidate's Life. It is important, therefore, that his lifelong Masonic journey continue after receiving the Scottish Rite degrees. In an effort to signify this continuation and to involve the Brother's Lady in understanding a small part of the significance of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, the Fourteenth Degree Ring Ceremony is being held for our Spring Reunion Class.
The Ring Ceremony with its color, warmth and dignity is meant to impress upon the wives and ladies of the Candidates their new status upon his attaining the Fourteenth Degree and to make them feel that they are also a part of the Scottish Rite.
Nineteen of the twenty-four new Masters of the Royal Secret from our Spring Class, and their ladies, took part in the 14° Ring Ceremony held at the Valley on June 26th.
In addition, 16 Brothers were received under an arch of steel, and knighted members of the Valley of Orlando Knights of Saint Andrew (KoSA) Chapter.
The Orlando KoSA Sabre Team provided the arch of steel, and Venerable Master Larry Williamson, 32°, assisted by Most Worshipful Brother Dale Goerhig, 33° Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Grand Lodge F&AM of Florida, dubbed and constituted the new Knights.
The Knights of St. Andrew exist as a service organization on behalf of all members of their Consistory, and provide services where they are needed. This includes, but not limited to, aiding the Tylers, acting as greeters, providing escort services for dignitaries or for special events created for the ladies during reunions or other functions, serving as guides, assisting the Scottish degree work, helping present the Colors. Knights of St. Andrew also assist in the calling committees, participate in parades or civic activities, promote fund-raising events, and aid in any special event.
Their flexibility and enthusiasm make the Knights of St. Andrew one of the Valley's most active and desirable organizations. It is an excellent way to nurture and develop future leaders as they learn their organizational and leadership skills, explore the inner structures of their Scottish Rite Centers, and thus gain a deeper admiration for our Order and Brethren who work in Freemasonry as a whole.
Membership is limited to 32nd degree Freemasons and will abide by the Valley's by-laws, and those approved by the Sovereign Grand Inspector General. We hope all 32° Brothers will join us as an active member of the Valley of Orlando Knights of St. Andrew.
